Chicago Central District Church of the Nazarene

Number of Volunteers in This Organization (annually):
10
The Chicago Central District provides missional leadership, resourcing and superintendency to some 100 congregations in northeast Illinois. Our district offices are located in the city of Chicago. Our regional denominational university is Olivet Nazarene University, with a central campus located in Bourbonnais, Illinois, 60 miles south of Chicago's Loop. Form our earliest days, over 100 years ago, we have placed a priority on the urban poor. We encourage our churches to reach out in compassionate and community transformational ways to bring about real personal and social change through the hope-filled Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Number of Volunteers in This Organization (annually):

We are finishing our 9th house at the present time. We cover LaSalle, Bureau, and Putnam counties. Our plans are to build in Ottawa and Granville next year. We just finished one house in Princeton and are working on one in Spring Valley now.
We can revovate homes but have mostly built small decent affordable homes for persons/famlies that are between 30% and 60% of the median income for the county in which we build.
We partner with churches, businesses, and individuals to accomplish our goals.
We get volunteer help and provide a no interest loan to the chosen person/family. Our criteria are need, willingness to partner with us, and ability to pay.
